"I'm just like you..."

Oceana’s ‘In Birth’ // Somewhere in Alabama Circa Summer 2010

Feeling very close to this, decided to dig through my archives & offer the world something I captured that moved me in a positive way.

I’ll never be able to explain the amount of influence my friends have had on me over the past several years. I have been blessed with the opportunity to service the talents of so many brilliant musicians and I will never, ever, take that for granted. The amount of inspiration I have been able to draw from the essence of all that my friends create is infinite. We are all infinite.

Although we all have our own paths to follow, it’s the music that is the common ground we can all come back to, again and again. It’s the music that moves through us, animating our intentions into actions.

‘Those who say there’s nothing after, they’re all ghosts and they won’t matter…’

“Oh bliss, bliss and heaven… Oh, it was gorgeousness and gorgeousity made flesh… And then, a bird of rarest-spun heaven metal, or like silvery wine flowing in a spaceship, gravity all nonsense now… I knew such lovely pictures”

Thought this was really cool, this is one of my best friends, he teaches yoga at Guruv Yoga here in central Florida. He’s been one of the biggest inspirations in my life in regards to my yoga practice, vegan diet, and overall general perception of the Universe.

Humbled and very thankful to be given the opportunity to teach yoga, live life and to share my experiences in the very real atmosphere that our planet provides. To thrive off of the fruits of the land and share them with Mother Earth, Father Time, all beings, brothers, sisters and yogis is a great honor.
Surfing, art and music is what my life has been all about. Creativity  in or out of  nature and its elements play a large roll on the way we perceive and function in our daily lives, and  my body functions best in water. It relaxes the mind, soothes the soul and promotes positive thinking and yoga has given me a great alternative to the water.
Practicing yoga and meditation is the only other time I feel like I can just get away from it all  mentally, physically and spiritually… just let go. Yoga gives me the same weightless feeling, happy thoughts and blissful vibrations that the water offers.
Yoga gives me focus,  intuition, strength and balance to help overcome any and all obstacles or challenges with a clear approach  and  has changed my life in many other positive ways. Most importantly, yoga and meditation has heightened my over all sense of awareness and compassion which has helped me enjoy life and its opportunities.  Im looking forward to sharing breath, movement. time, love, knowledge, and life with any and all beings.

May all beings everywhere be happy and free and may the thoughts, words and actions of my own life contribute in some way to that happiness and to that freedom for all.

The counterfeit innovator is wildly self-confident. The real one is scared to death.

We cannot imagine forms not already existing in nature - we know nothing else& Edward Weston

Photography, when it tells the truth, is magnificent, but it can be twisted, deformed, restricted, and compromised more than any other art. Because what is before the lens always has the illusion of reality; but what is selected and put before the lens can be as false as a totalitarian lie. While it is true that we get pretty much what we bring to them in our minds and hearts, we are still restricted by the content and the connotations of the image before us. If the picture is of a clam I don’t think of flamingos! The connotations of much of documentary photography are - to me - quite rigid Ansel Adams

I am convinced that favorable progression in the profession depends upon three chief factors: basic capabilities, an attitude of inventiveness, and cooperation Ansel Adams

A great photograph is one that fully expresses what one feels, in the deepest sense, about what is being photographed, and is, thereby, a true manifestation about what one feels about life in it’s entirety. The visual expression of feeling should be set forth in terms of a simple devotion to the medium. It should be a statement of the greatest clarity and perfection possible under the conditions of it’s creation and production Ansel Adams

What the really great artists do is they’re entirely themselves. They’re entirely themselves, they’ve got their own vision, they have their own way of fracturing reality, and if it’s authentic and true, you will feel it in your nerve endings.

Perfect inspiration for the day

Speaking of Gage Young, he is also integrated with two other perspicacious minded men, James Lano and Alex Purifoy. Synthesize these three bodies and minds, and you have The Undesigned. This is such a joyful subject for myself. I love music. I love design. I love videos. I love photography. These men can create material that is beyond what is the norm in the music industry. I think they’re best described as a breath of fresh air.

In a world of trends, these individuals are setting one. James and Gage (and I would assume Alex) are some of the most unpretentious individuals I have been in contact with in quite some time. They are real. This is easily viewed by their work, and their seemingly ever growing projects and concepts.

Even if you aren’t in a band, or in need of some aspect of their growing variety of services, their work is something to enjoy. The Undesigned is a movement that is needed in this world. They create what they each individually love, and it shows. Follow them, and enjoy their sound attitudes and ideas. Warning: Their ideas are addicting. It may cause a sudden change of heart, views on subjects, and ideas. Creativeness may ensue.

This is why I continue to pursue a career in design, the inspiration of others and the spread of positive energy resonates so deeply in my being.

Inspiration.

Discuss.

In a world so beautiful, where do you turn for inspiration?

January 1st 2010 marks the start of my fourth year as a freelance designer. I think under normal circumstances and a very old world way of thinking, this would be the appropriate time to recollect my experiences in a semi-sappy overemotional blog that has nothing to do with the progress of my work. Although I am very grateful for my experiences and the people who have shaped my world along with them, I feel as though at this point in time my only concern is the present moment.
The year 2010 begins a point in time marked by greater restraint and compassion for the good of mankind. We are in the midst of creating new habits and practices to bring about the new shift in consciousness. This begins with the world we design for ourselves.
As a designer, I feel solely responsible for creating the world that we evolve in. With this great responsibility comes the satisfaction of knowing that my inspired vision has helped shape a more positive world.
To start fresh for a new decade, I formulated a concept in order to stretch my visions across all the world’s stage. I have never been confident putting my brand aside and putting all of my energy into a project under a new alias, let alone putting my trust in someone else to share my vision, until now.
Branding this new company with the symbol for Infinity, I intend on this adventure to be limitless and beyond any type of boundaries. Our shared vision is inspired by a designers seemingly ‘effortless’ ability to make something extremely complicated look simple and almost as if it were not designed at all.
As of January 1st 2010, I am proud to announce, in partnership with close friend Gage Young, The Undesigned, a movement of inspired thought through creative direction; a larger than life endeavor to seek out large-scale creative projects in order to inspire the world. With agency representation provided by JJ Cassiere of The Kirby Organization [tkoco.com], Gage and I collectively plan to provide our creative services to a much larger audience than we have been focusing on thus far in our careers. Our goal is to provide our clients with the creative vision that is sometimes hard to come by when attempting to release any type of project.
In addition to our creative endeavors, we will also be releasing a line of LIMITED edition apparel. Details to follow this spring.
The official press release will be announced early this January; we appreciate all the effort that any of you have made already in order to get this off the ground.
With all of this being said, here’s to 2010. At this point in time I feel invincible and have no idea where this year may take me. Expect the unimagined, the undesigned…
